Fun-Sized and Full-Strength Kona
IONIQ 5 N to Compete at Pikes Peak
We briefly mentioned the IONIQ 5 joining Hyundai’s N roster as the first EV in the last edition (catch up on past issues here). Let’s take a closer look as it gears up for the 102nd Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC).
The PPIHC, or more commonly referred to as “the Race to the Clouds”, is the second oldest race in America taking place on Pikes Peak mountain near Colorado Springs.
This invitation-only event is a 12.42 mile course consisting of 156 turns, and an elevation gain of 4,725 feet. By the time drivers cross the finish line, they are 14,115 feet above sea level. 🤯
Drivers Paul Dallenbach and Ron Zara will each be driving an IONIQ 5 N for the Electric Production SUV/Crossover record. Dani Sordo and Robin Shute will each be driving a modified specification IONIQ 5 N set to debut prior to the PPIHC.
In case you needed a refresher on the first EV to join the N roster:
Performance Features:
Dual-motor AWD with rally-inspired handling
Strengthened chassis and improved suspension
Up to 641 horsepower with N Grin Boost3
Enhanced Driving Experience:
N e-shift for simulated gear changes
N Active Sound+ for ICE-like engine sound
High-Performance Design:
Aggressive exterior with unique accents
Track-focused cockpit with N branding

Santa Cruz - The Pick-Up Truck Meets SUV
Ever imagined what would happen if a pick-up truck fell in love with an SUV? Allow me to introduce you to the Hyundai Santa Cruz, Hyundai’s first-ever Sport Adventure Vehicle.
Holler Hyundai gave us a closer look at the Santa Cruz this week, check it out and see if you can complete Bepsy’s scavenger hunt.
Widely functional and versatile, the Santa Cruz has the best features of a pick-up truck and an SUV all in one. My personal favorite is the underfloor lockable sealed storage bin with a drain. Add a few bags of ice and some beverages and the Santa Cruz is the talk of the tailgate!

Kona - Fun-Sized and Full-Strength
According to Hyundai, the Kona is “the mighty SUV that does it all”, and I’d have to agree. With four trims to choose from, the Kona is available with a variety of features. Take a look:
Bluetooth Hands-Free with Wireless Audio Streaming
Hyundai SmartSense
Hyundai Pay
Wireless Device Charging
Digital Key
12.3-inch Digital Instrument Cluster
Did I mention that the Hyundai Kona is available in an ICE or EV option? That’s right, driver’s can choose a good ole gasoline internal combustion engine, or a new and hip electric vehicle. This choice given to buyers is what makes the Kona a favorite.
In fact, the Kona was just recently named to Autotrader’s Best New Cars for 2024 list, and is even the recipient of Car and Driver’s 2024 Editors’ Choice Award and Kelley Blue Book’s Subcompact SUV Best Buy Award.
