It’s no secret we are big fans of the Hyundai N Vision 74 Concept Car. And critics agree. Hyundai's high-performance hydrogen-electric hybrid vehicle, the N Vision 74, received 3 prestigious Red Dot Awards.

  1. Design Concept - Hyundai N Vision 74 Concept Car

  2. Interface & UX Design - “Seon” Entertainment System (Feat. in N Vision 74)

  3. Typography Design - Hyundai Sans UI

Hyundai's 'Seon,' which means “line” in Korean, is what took the Red Dot Award home this month. The design for the ccNC (connected car navigation cockpit) infotainment system uses natural horizontal lines to create a consistent and visually pleasing interface for the eye.

The Hyundai Sans UI mobility UX digital typeface also received a Red Dot Award separate from the visual display elements. Designed with legibility and brand identity in mind, this typeface is optimized for various driving conditions. It inherits design characteristics from Hyundai's brand typeface and supports different weights and styles to convey information efficiently.

These Red Dot Awards underscore Hyundai's innovative approach to design in mobility, user experience, and brand identity and we look forward to seeing what Hyundai comes up with next for their “Rolling Lab".

Which EV is for you? IONIQ 5 vs. IONIQ 6 🏁

The IONIQ line shares a common theme of being an all-electric vehicle series, however, the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 while being similar in certain areas are very different in others which will be highlighted below.

  1. Design - Both vehicles have very different chassis from one another since the IONIQ 5 is close to a midsize crossover, while the IONIQ 6 is a sedan. This immediately means storage space and seating will be smaller in the IONIQ 6 vs. the IONIQ 5, but other benefits come with this smaller size. the IONIQ 5 has a length of 182.5 in and the IONIQ 6 has a length of 191.1 in, so even though the IONIQ 6 is smaller than the IONIQ 5 it still ends up being slightly longer.

  2. Battery & Range - The IONIQ 5 has two battery options with the lower-end model featuring a 58-kWh unit that can get on average 220 miles of range, and the models above it all being equipped with a 77.4-kWh battery which can get 303 miles before needing to be recharged. The IONIQ 6 at all levels comes standard with the 77.4-kWh battery, however depending on the motor option or trim level you choose the range can vary from 240 - 361 miles before needing a recharge.

  3. Charging - Both the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 can recharge at up to 239 kW, which in the real world means you can go from 10 to 80 percent battery capacity in as little as 18 minutes under ideal conditions, moving to higher times such as a half-hour in less than ideal situations.

  4. Performance - The IONIQ 5 in the lower-trim model can achieve 168 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, while on the higher trims, it can pump out 225 hp and 258 lb-ft. This means for the higher-end AWD model the IONIQ 5 can go from 0-60 in 4.4 seconds. The standard IONIQ 6 can achieve 149 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque and the higher-end trim can achieve 320 hp and 258 lb-ft. What this means for the IONIQ 6 is that in the fastest configuration, it can achieve 0-60 in 4.3 seconds.

  5. Tech - Both IONIQs come standard with two 12.3-inch displays right next to each other, one serves as the gauge cluster and the other serves as the infotainment touchscreen. Both cars also come with Android Auto / Apple CarPlay, with available wireless support.

  6. Price and Where to Find - The IONIQ 5 SE Standard Range starts at under $43,000. The rest of the price points match up with the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 so expect anywhere from $47,000 - $54,000 depending on what features and add-ons you choose. Your friends at Holler Hyundai would love to help you find your IONIQ 5 or IONIQ 6, so you can Buy Smart - Be Happy.
